Intore November Newsletter. 2012

Intore Expeditions
Collaborating with others to rebuild a more vibrant    Rwanda.

Inzozi nziza - Dreams come true.

For many November, is a time to reflect on the past year and to re-energize and re-evaluate for the upcoming year.  We are excited to share with you some of our good news from this past year. 2012 was a dream come true for Intore Expeditions.  From the beginning, we dreamed of being a tour company that focused on our guests and collaborative work with Rwandan communities in order to make a difference.  We knew from the start it would take time to grow a new business, earn respect and credibility.  This year we had three events which confirmed our own growth: The Rwanda Insight tour, AYSV Field trip and New Coaster bus.  If you have other ideas for collaboration with Intore Expeditions we would love to speak with you about them, we are open to positive collaborations that will help to build a more vibrant and self-sustaining Rwanda.

 Calendar sale success
Intore and AYSV take 18 members of environment club to Akagera                    Shelly’s love of photography found a way to fulfill her
dream of sharing Rwanda with others by creating a calendar of her photographs. The sales of the calendar, has been so successful that we were able to provide transportation for 18 students from Agahozo Shalom Youth Village to Akagera NP. We believe that getting Rwanda’s children into the National Parks will encourage new thoughts for conservation and leadership.  You can support our ongoing effort by purchasing a calendar on our website fundraising page.  Give a gift that gives more;

Quote from Environment Club President, Mutuyimana Joel.
“…our trip was very important in our life.  As we are the members of the environment club, we increased our knowledge.  So personally I thank our little paradise of Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village because they help restore the life of Rwandan Youth.”

Rwanda Insight Tour 2012

Our collaboration with the Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center has been another fantastic dream enhancer.  We were asked to design and lead a tour for educators to Rwanda to help enhance learning about genocide and reconciliation.  The initial tour was so successful we have been asked to lead a second one in 2013. The new itinerary has been expanded from six to ten days.  Itinerary and registration are available on our website.
“-the tour was much more than a visit of genocide memorials and museums.” J. Kay

Our new coaster bus

This year Paul’s big dream came true. We were finally able to acquire a 29 passenger coaster bus.  This is one of the few of its kind in Rwanda. It is fully equipped with seatbelts, air-conditioning and a microphone for our guides.   This greatly helps to broaden our capacity of tourism beyond safari and gorilla trekking enthusiasts. We can now provide reliable transportation to the wide range of scholars, investors and volunteer workers that come to Rwanda.  We hope to be able to add another one soon.
